Modern Glass and Stone Residence at La Concha House by MOOARC

This classic modern house is just the kind of home design that i like. The house looks very exotic to us. The UK-based architectural studio MOOARC had transformed 15th Century barn on the Island of Guernsey into a high-end, luxurious modern home. This house was later named La Concha House. It’s a smart design, the architect remodeled the old structure and combine it with recycled building materials at this private residence.

TEXAS TOWER HOUSE

When I think of Texas nowhere in that thought is green grass, water or large trees. Talk about a skewed perception of the state. Fortunately that has been renewed by this house in Austin built by Andersson Wise Architects. Ultimately it seems more like a lookout tower which only makes it cooler.

Cul-de-sac graphic prints

The creative team at Cul-de-sac is releasing its first range of limited edition prints. Blending the hallmarks of Danish design, Italian style and Pop Art punch, these three geometric prints are timeless artworks that will add visual impact to any interior. These are the first in what will be an on-going series of prints playing with the team’s theme of the cul-de-sac… a street that is open at one end only, a journey that brings you home.  The first series, seen displayed in the studio of iconic designer Khai Liew, features a punchy orange design; another with geometric curves of tonal blue and a third print of a smaller repeating pattern in yellow.  Each print is released in a limited edition of 20 prints.

Chantry’s Barn

A modern barn! We have, in fact, featured a modern barn here before, but this one is different in style. This barn is much more rustic on the exterior, and was at one time part of a larger estate. The property is hidden in the swathes of stunning Gloucestershire countryside just outside the village of Guiting Power.

Folded House by Andrew Reeves

Folded house is located at the peripheries of the Canadian capital Ottawa. Architecture of the neighbourhood is diverse, beginning from modern design residences to working quarters form the beginning of the 20th century. This project has been created for clients with interest in urban environment. Architect Andrew Reeves created an open and continuous space with simple and clean forms. Reeves designed a compact composition of volumes at a narrow parcel of an irregular shape. The main volume of the building is parallel with the street side what enables to enter the house from the western side. Second floor volume overlap the entrance on the ground floor what forms a sheltered leeward. Layering of contrasting materials forms a geometric game of linear elements accentuating the entrance. A garage stands out on the other side of the house while copying the angle of the parcel. As for the used materials, natural materials predominate, a combination of pine-tree wood and plaster imitates the modernism of Alvar Aalt
